Engr. Francis Iwu is a Health & Safety Professional with over 16 years experience in the management of Health, Safety & Environment. He started his career as a Site Safety Supervisor at Kimcotech Nigeria Ltd (A contracting company to National Agip Oil Company NAOC) where he supervised HSE in Onshore and Offshore facilities such as Tebidaba Flow Station and Boiling Operating Platform (BOP) in Bayelsa State.
He later joined the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria in 2007 and became a HSE Instructor and Consultant, a job he did for over six years before joining Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) as the HSE Manager in charge of Anambra State from July 2014 to September 2015. Currently, he is the Head of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), EEDC.
Francis holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Port-Harcourt, Post Graduate Diploma (Management) from Imo State University and M.Sc (Management) from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology. He equally has numerous Certifications in Health, Safety & Environment, such as NEBOSH International General Certificate, OSHA Professional Certificate, IRCA – OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor Certificate; ISPON HSE Competence Development Course Level 3, ITF Train the Trainer Certificate; etc. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON); Member, American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE); Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE); Special Marshal (Federal Road Safety Commission); Platinum Member of The Nigerian Red Cross Society and Registered Member, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
