The Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC) commenced operation in November, 2013 as one of the eleven electricity distribution companies that emerged after the unbundling of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), following the Electricity Power Sector Reform Act of 2005.
The company is saddled with the primary responsibility of distributing and marketing electricity to end users within the five states in the South East geo-political zone; namely: Abia (Umuahia), Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo, with a total of 16 Districts offices across these states.
EEDC is a public utility company with equity capital at 60% to investors and 40% public trust under the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE).
With a customer base of about 1.3million across its network, EEDC is constantly deploying new initiatives geared towards improving its operations and safety, ensuring quality service delivery to its customers, and above all, the development of the South East.
